Come along to our town’s ‘newest’ venue, St Margaret’s Hall on Friday 4 July, 8pm and enjoy an evening of eloquent folk songs from Johnny Coppin, with support from All in Harmony.
This fabulous local choir will kick off the gig with a short set of diverse songs and then Johnny, whose music is essentially English, will entertain you with his melodic and evocative songs. He has performed at many festivals and recently launched his Borderland album on a UK tour.
Johnny presents an Acoustic Music programme every Saturday at 5.30pm on BBC Radio Gloucestershire. TV appearances include his own programme ‘Song of Gloucestershire’ for the BBC, ‘Stars in a Dark Night’ for Channel 4, and ‘Between Two Rivers’ for ITV. His original music for theatre includes ‘Songs on Lonely Roads’ (the story of composer/poet Ivor Gurney) and ‘Edge of Day - a tribute to Laurie Lee’.
